Benefits of Reading To Your Toddler

One of the best gifts that you can give to your child is the gift of books. I am so glad I have been able to initiate my son into reading from a young age.
I want to share a few facts and information about this with you which I think might be of help to you, my readers. Please click the following link to read more about how reading books can transform your toddler's life and put him into the direction of happiness.

How Reading Helped My Baby Calm Down

While we cannot stop a nuclear war, we can always start working our way towards world peace from home and the first step towards this for us mothers, is how we shape our children's thoughts and visions.

My son was awfully disturbed and in deep emotional turmoil for quite sometime from 2.5 years of age. It was very difficult for me to fathom the reasons behind his occasional, intense mood swings and outbursts. I figured from the very beginning that he is an intelligent kid and an intense one too. But it was his lack of expression that made him boil inside and made him so turbulent. The important thing to fill him with, I realized, is happiness - pure happiness that is ingrained deep within his life.
It is only natural for things to go the happy way. The direction of happiness is the direction of the universe. If anyone is not happy within, it means that there is something deep within the person's life which is not aligned with the direction of the universe. This very realization pushed me to find a solution to my son's unstable emotional condition when I discovered the habit of reading out to him. It changed his life - and it transformed me too into a new person. There is so much I learn everyday from him in the process of reading books to him.

Very recently, just before his session break, I was summoned to his school where my son's class teacher showed me something very interesting - a bookmark on which he had sketched and coloured himself. I can't say this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. But it surely is the reflection of a beautiful mind which is the what I am trying to tap!

The bookmark made by my toddler

I shared a blog post a couple of weeks ago about Thaneeya McArdle - the artist who inspired me to start drawing and sketching after a 15-year hiatus after which, I received an email from Thaneeya where she personally thanked me and wished that my son grows up, expressing himself to the fullest by making art and having lots of fun. I am so glad to share this picture of the bookmark that was created by my son! Looks like Thaneeya's good wishes and prayers have begun to show their miracle right away!

I really hope the link to my Hubpages blogpost about the reading benefits to a toddler will help the people concerned.
