Pasta in a Jiffy! Recipe for Fussy Toddlers

My four-and-a-half year-old loves pasta. He has been a difficult toddler with solids ever since he took to it post 6 months of age. That, particularly is the reason as to why I had to think and come up with as many ideas for recipes of pasta for him.
I spend my Sunday afternoons lazing with my son in the low, cushioned area of my prayer room where I also have my TV installed. Usually, a Harry Potter movie on a Sunday afternoon makes it extra-special for me! However, there was no Harry Potter today, so we spent the afternoon watching "The Muppets" and napping which was wonderful!
On Sundays, I serve Riju his favourite food for breakfast or for lunch. However, today, he preferred having the usual stuff for breakfast and lunch and so, I decided to made this quick pasta in 15 minutes for his dinner and he loved every bit of it! Its healthy and creamy and tastes great when served warm! I wrapped up my weekend tonight with a lot of satisfaction when I saw him happy and satisfied and smiling after dinner!
Bedtime stories included "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Sleeping Beauty".

And yes, I am sharing the recipe with you!

1. Fusilli Pasta - half cup
2. Milk - 1 cup
3. Cheddar cheese - 1 cube
4. Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
5. Butter - 2 teaspoons
6. Corn Kernels - 1/4th of a cup
7. Ham/Chicken Ham - 3 pieces, finely chopped
8. Black Pepper powder for flavour - 1/5th teaspoon
9. Garlic - 2-3 cloves, finely chopped

  • Boil the Pasta and keep it aside.
  • In a non-stick pan, warm the Olive Oil.
  • Put the chopped Garlic, Corn and Ham and stir fry for 1 minute.
  • Pour the Milk.
  • Reduce the flame and Grate the cube of Cheese.
  • Stir until the Cheese mixes well with the Milk.
  • Sprinkle in the Salt.
  • Put in the boiled Pasta.
  • Stir and as the sauce begins to attain a creamy texture, sprinkle in the pepper powder.
  • Transfer the contents into a serving dish, put the dollops of Butter on top and garnish with fresh Coriander leaves if you like.
You may also use:
1. Small florets of Broccoli
2. Grated Carrot - 1/4th of a cup
Boil these vegetables and put in with the chopped Garlic and stir fry and continue with the rest of the procedure stated above!
