How to make Cottage Cheese cubes in Spinach curry - Spinach Benefits and a Recipe!

One of the most nagging food for children is Spinach. Although I never had to be initiated to watching Popeye in order to have Spinach, I greatly admire Elzie Chrisler Segar - the creator of this Cartoon character, who has popularized and in many families, have made it easier for mothers to include Spinach in their children's regular diet.
Before getting into the nutritional benefits of Spinach, here is a very popular recipe of Spinach with Cottage Cheese cubes known as "Palak Paneer" in India.

  • Spinach contains Flavonoids which contains anti-cancer elements that fight skin cancer and prostate cancer.
  • Spinach is said to contain 337% of the RDA of Vitamin A that prevents infection through sensitive parts of the human body.
  • Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin E and C, manganese and beta-carotene in Spinach prevent osteoporosis and high blood pressure.
  • Regular intake of Spinach reduces the occurence of wrinkles on skin.
  • High contents of zinc is essential for the formation of spinal chord in a fetus. Spinach is therefore an essential must for pregnant women during the first and second trimesters.
  • Spinach contains Vitamin K which prevents cardiovascular diseases.

When I was pregnant, I had Spinach every alternate day from my second trimester. My gyanaecologist smiled when I revealed this secret to her because she informed me that this was one of the secrets to my thick hair and minimum hair loss post pregnancy!
